This year I am on a journey for joy. You can read more about how this journey got started here.
Lacking joy? I’d love for you to join me on the journey for joy?
So, what sparked joy for me this week?
- A new little addition to the family! Our first nephew on my husband’s side was born this week and it was such a joy to snuggle him up and love on my sister in law with some meals. Our kids so in love with their little cousin. It was fun to watch the anticipation growing in our kids the closer she got to her due date. They were less than 2 or 3 each time a new baby came home in our family so none of them remember it. I loved seeing them so excited over the new baby. After visiting him, our oldest said, “I think I like babies more than big kids.” It was so sweet!
- Watching our Little Lady dress up as a princess and attend a tea party birthday party. She had a blast and was so eager to get there. She kept asking me, “can we go yet?”. She just loves times when she gets to go out alone and do something super girly. She didn’t want to leave! I also got some joy out of trying a new hairstyle out on her. It seemed complicated but it wasn’t! Yay for a hair bow – from your own hair!
- Me time!! I got some much needed me time this weekend. After a crazy busy week, my husband sent me off to the spa for the morning where I enjoyed a facial and a pedicure. It was so relaxing just to lay in silence and not answer any “hey, mommy” questions. It was exactly what I needed.
- Never Unfriended. I’m still working my way through this book and I can’t say enough good things about this book! It’s the kind of book where Lisa mimics your pastor and rips your face off with much needed convicting truth but then puts it back together. She’s been through so many of those painful friendship problems and knows how to speak right into your hurts and fears. It’s a must read. Even if you are popular and have a ton of friends, you can still learn a thing or two from her words.
