4 Things that Sparked Joy

Check out what sparked joy in my life this week as I make a journey for joy this year.

This year I am on a journey for joy. You can read more about how this journey got started here.

Lacking joy? I’d love for you to join me on the journey for joy?

So, what sparked joy for me this week?

  1. Housewarming BBQ! This weekend we threw a celebration BBQ together with some friends. We are so excited about having a forever home that we wanted to celebrate with our friends. It was such a fun time! It was a fun night with good food and fellowship and with the perfect weather! I even played volleyball, and if you knew me in real life you would know that I don’t play sports anymore. But it was fun! The kids had the most fun I think, they were sad to see all of their friends leave for home. We are always amazed at God’s goodness to us for giving us our dream home when we least expected it. Our plans were to try and buy a house in 2018 and even then it wasn’t 100%. My husband tells me,  “God loves you more than I do because He gave you your dream house in 2017 and I was only going to try in 2018.” He is so right. I really felt like God just wrapped His loving arms around me in a season of defeat and gave me one of my hearts biggest desires when I least expected it.
  2. Blueberry Picking! We spent some time on Saturday morning picking blueberries. The weather is so perfect in the morning for berry picking. The kids have fun searching the perfect berries and finding a jackpot – our way of saying we found a spot with a ton of ready to pick berries! I love being outside and doing stuff with my kids. It’s such a great memory!
  3. My new tables! My husband finished 2 of the 3 tables he is building our new house. He built the entry way table and also the turtle tank table. Both of which have 3 shelves so I can buy bins to have some storage. There are no closets downstairs in our new house and only a small hallway closet upstairs so I need some storage! We are going for a farmhouse style in our decor with this house and the tables go right along with that plan. They also match the 2 benches he built a few weeks back! Now is he working on a huge console cabinet for our living room that has barn door. Yes, sliding barn doors. Just wait until you see it! So much joy going on over here with decorating our dream house!!
  4. Lesson planner! I got my 2017-2018 lesson planner all printed and bounded! It was less than $5 to have it bound at Staples. That makes me happy. I love my lesson planner because of its simplicity. I have what I need for the year and nothing else. It doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and I’m not paying for pages that I’m not going to be using. And the pink roses just make it so pretty! If you’re like me, download yours today!
