This year I am on a journey for joy. You can read more about how this journey got started here.
Lacking joy? I’d love for you to join me on the journey for joy?
So, what sparked joy for me this week?
- A pajama day! Last week was BUSY. This week we needed a day where we did nothing but play inside and relax. We all stayed in our pajamas, we read, we played legos, listened to music. We just took the day off from life. It was perfect. If we run our kids ragged we all suffer. We had a busy weekend and looked forward to some down time. I am fairly introverted, well more than that really, so I needed a quiet day. And hey, there was less laundry that day!
- Zoo day! Since we took Monday off we were ready for some fun on Tuesday! We spent the afternoon at the zoo, even though it was over 80* here. We want to enjoy the last stretch of summer before we hit the books next week. I love watching my kids grow up and become best friends. Our morning didn’t start out smoothly, so the time at the zoo made up for it.
- Pool time! Since it was so hot this week, we finished off Tuesday at the YMCA pool. It was a fun way to cool down and it was our first time in their outdoor pool. Seeing how far our kids have come in the water makes us not want to go backwards so exposing them to water is important at this stage. We are not ready for summer to end!
- Hiking! This week my husband found a new hiking spot that is just around the block from our new house. We were all excited to go check it out and to also hike with him. He has only hiked with us once due to his schedule still being crazy (you’ve got to love owning your own business!). It ended up being quite the adventure! The trials were more terrain like than we are used to, so it definitely felt like more of a hike. It was also overgrown a lot and had TONS of poison ivy. We spent a couple hours exploring. We saw frogs, a creek, rusty old cars and some cool looking fungus. That just made me sound like a homeschool mom! Wow. Anyways it was a great day!
