How to Organize My Father’s World 1st Grade Curriculum

Having trouble deciding how to organize everything that comes with My Father's World 1st grade curriculum set? Whether you bought the basic or deluxe package, you still need to find a place to keep everything that comes in it. I love organization. I love everything about it, planning, actually completing it and then enjoying the fruit of my labor. I am happy to share my method for simplifying the process for you!

Last year, I loved my method of the crate system while we went through My Father’s World Kindergarten that I decided to use the same method with their first grade.

MFW first grade also comes with a set of loose-leaf student sheets. I purchased two sets of hanging file folders to fit all 34 weeks of sheets. I placed each week’s corresponding sheet in the right folder and placed that inside of my Thirty-One Fold N’ File

Next, I pulled out each page of the Animals Pattern, placed them in page protector sheets and put them into a 3-ring binder.

My plan for the worksheets is to take them out of the page protectors and put them inside of a laminated pocket while he’s using them. After last year, I learned that writing and erasing on page protectors all year caused unnecessary student stress and they weren’t as reusable as I was hoping for. So this year we are trying a different method.

The 3 science books and art things I put into a magazine organizer.

I put the Enjoying Art Together pages into a manila folder.

Lastly, I put the Unifix Cubes into a Thirty-One Oh-Snap Bin. These may end up in a different bin but this was what I had on hand and I want to see how the idea holds up.

The math flash cards I will store in the mesh pockets of the Fold N’ File for easy access. Same as the magnifying glass, which you’ll find out you need once you read the supplies list.

The student workbook is going to stay at his desk this year along. The student Bible reader and journal don’t start until later in the year so, for now, they are on the shelf, then they’ll stay at his desk as well once they start.

That’s it! That’s how I organized everything that came with My Father’s World first grade.

This was so helpful!! Starting in July will be our first year homeschooling. I ordered MFW 1st and Pre-K for my 2 daughters. I was so overwhelmed when it came in the mail yesterday. This post really broke it down into manageable pieces. Thank you so much!

I’m so glad! It definitely can be overwhelming! I have a similar post for organizing preschool if you were in need of some ideas there as well. 🙂

Hello and thank you for your site. It’s very helpful and has gotten me even more organized. How do I set you as my consultant for purchasing some of these items? Thanks!

John, I’m actually not a consultant or affiliate for My Father’s World. You simply purchase straight from their site mfwbooks.com. Hope that helps!
