Homeschooling 101 is a must have book to add to your homeschool library. Packed full of practical wisdom and tips from lesson plans to organization. You won't want to miss this gem!

As a newbie to the homeschooling mom’s club, I knew I wanted to be well prepared for the task.

Since we knew we wanted homeschool long term, I knew I needed to do my best and feel well equipped for the task God has called me to.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; Ecclesiastes‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬a

I came across the Confessions of a Homeschooler blog through Pinterest the summer before our oldest started preschool. I was hooked on her blog! You should definitely go check her out and subscribe!

I was so excited to get my hands on Erica’s book Homeschooling 101.

It’s step-by-step guide to getting started, choosing curriculum, creating lesson plans, and staying the course.

Erica takes her readers through the practical aspects of getting started as well providing them with encouragement for the difficult days ahead.

Another great thing about purchasing this book is that it comes with free instant downloads that includes homeschooling forms and a daily planner from her website. Erica does her very best to get you started on the right foot!

What I Love About Homeschooling 101

1. It’s practical!

Erica talks about nearly all of the practical aspects of homeschooling you can think of. Choosing curriculum, switching curriculum mid year and buying curriculum on a budget are talked about in the book.

There were so many things I hadn’t even considered before I read this book. Erica opened up my eyes to many of the behind the scenes aspects of homeschooling.

2. The tips!

As a newbie, any tips from seasoned homeschoolers are very valuable. To learn what works and what doesn’t work early on makes you feel more equipped. We don’t have to go into this blindly, we can gleam wisdom from others.

Erica shares tips on homeschooling multiple grades to tips on homeschooling with toddlers under foot. The organizational and homeschool conventions tips prepare you for what’s ahead. Newbies don’t often think of these areas. Erica has thought of everything! You’ll be grabbing this book over and over again to remind yourself of the great ideas she offers.

3. She leaves no age group out!

While we may just be starting out on this journey, soon we will all have middle schoolers and high schoolers. Sooner than we’d all like, I’m sure. Or is that just me?

Erica makes sure to give tips and advice on all ages.

By the end of the book, I felt like homeschooling through high school is actually achievable and doesn’t need to be scary!

4. She’s real!

She gives real life examples throughout the book. Erica isn’t some college expert with no real life experience. She talks about her struggles, failures and successful moments. I love this!
