Day Two – Bedroom
Today in our 10-Day Spring Cleaning Challenge we tackled our bedroom!
I was pleasantly surprised to only need to spend about 1.5 hours in here after how long it took me yesterday to work on the kitchen. This challenge is totally doable and so refreshing to have squaky clean rooms.
After I got done today I am pumped to tackle the other rooms in the house. Seeing everything at their best is really motivating.
Since my before pictures of my kitchen had things already looking pretty clean, I wanted to give you a real honest look at how unkept our bedroom is in the morning. This is pretty normal. My husbands work clothes lying on the floor. He’s also been keeping pants that he never wears, that are too small or too ratty out of his draw so he wont grab them anymore. Those have been lying on the floor for atleast a week. Today I threw them all out! Whoohoo!
Both of our nightstands have had the same junk in them for years. No kidding. Every time we move I just put the same stuff right back in there thinking that maybe someday we will need them. Not today. I threw away nearly everything from both!
That project along with a major dusting, made me feel like I finally got this room in tip top shape.
Take a look at our fan. Ew. I have never cleaned a ceiling fan before and had no idea how I was going to do it. So I’ve left it for months. Every time I looked up at it there was this nagging voice in my head that yelled at me for not cleaning. I am so happy its all clean now and not spinning dust around our room!
One spot in the room that drives me crazy is my nightstand; underneat of it mostly. We have a computer monitor in our room that projects onto a TV screen on the wall. Therefore, I have so many chords under there that I have no idea what to do with. I had my husband go through them all to make sure that we needed them all. He was able to take out a couple but most were still needed. I’m not sure how to conceal them better so they don’t drive me crazy. Atleast it looks somewhat better!
I also tackled my out of control book stack. I’m addicted to reading and my nightstand seems to be the place where they all collect. I finally moved the ones I am done with back down to the basement bookshelf.
I love the finish product! The air smells fresher and cleaner and everything looks so nice!
